Discovery Tasks

Over the last few months in health, we have been working on discovery tasks. I was working with Tevita doing this. Although we barely did anything each lesson (mainly him) we still got it done. The topic we chose was discrimination or racism. I only just found out there was an option to do discrimination. We focused on racism.

We had to write 6 BIG questions and answer them here is an image of it

We then had to answer it

We then had to find strategies on how to stop it

We then created art on how to stop racism (although it was bad). We chose to do this because... well I don't know Tevita chose it.
We thought that telling someone was important because you won't have to fight it alone. Staying close to a group of people will make people scared to be racist.

This was extremely boring and we could have done this faster if we tried. The questions were hard to answer because we couldn't find an explanation on google but we did eventually finish it. Tevita did about 1-2 things each lesson while I was doing the most work so I don't think he was the best partner (sorry
Tevita). Hopefully, he never reads this blog post.

Game Time! Part 2

Hello and welcome to this blog post. Yesterday in Health we finished the last half of the games. Except it was a bit of a free for all and none of us really stayed in our group. I started playing UNO AGAIN. I was playing with Miguel, Daniel and Risha. I had a good deck to win without wild cards. Until Miguel put a shuffle card, card and ruined my chance of winning. I then decided to watch Tevita and Eliakim play Pick up Sticks. I then 1v1 Tevita at it and I got more sticks than him (well we didn't really play seriously). We then played UNO (I know I already played it but I joined a different group). I won the game (well they thought they won they didn't see me with any more cards). So that was Game Time Part 2.

Some Interpersonal Skills I used were Verbal Communication by talking to people. Non-Verbal Communication where I express feelings through my actions and facial expressions. I was actively listening to other people on what they did in the game. I was negotiating with Tevita that the sticks didn't move when it did several times I mean we both did that anyway.

And that's it for thig blog post goodbye.

Game Time! Part 1

Today in Health we had to play games. We had to be in groups of 2 or 3. There were six games and we got to play each game for 10 minutes but we only got to play 3 today. The other 3 we didn't get to play will be played next lesson. We played Guess Who, UNO and cards but it was just me doing magic tricks with them. I vs Daniel in Guess Who and lost. Then Jesse vs Daniel but the time to change activities came. We then played UNO I won the first game in three turns and I don't know who came second and third. In the second game, Daniel won then the time to switch came. Daniel placed a pick up 4 towards me. Jesse thought he was going to win but I placed down a pickup 2 to carry on to him. Then we played cards or it was me doing magic tricks. I did the one where they pick a card and then you guess what card it was and I did it successfully. The next one I failed and the next one there was a missing card so I couldn't do it. I think this is the most writing I've ever done for a blog post. It probably looks short because there's no picture. That's it for today bye.

Shark Infested Custard Game

Hello and welcome to this blog post. Today in Health we had to play a game where we had to get to the other side of the hallway using three hoops. We couldn't step out of the hoop so it was hard. I had to get the hoop from the back and give it to the people in the front. It was very fun and challenging but we got through it first (maybe because we only had five people and the other two teams had six people in their team). We all used communication skills to pass the hula hoop to each other.

We all encouraged each other and got through it with ease. I worked with Daniel, Risha, Shreya and a new person that started at our school. If we were to do it again I would make the gaps smaller because sometimes I had trouble reaching out for the hoop. I was probably working at level 2-3.

Rubber Band Cup Mover Game

Last week on Health we had to wrap a rubber band around a cup then bring them to another table and release it. There were five cups we had to do and we couldn't do two cups at the time. Some of the other teams looked professional doing it but we failed it horribly.

We encouraged each other even though we failed horribly. But it was all fun and games. I worked with Karsten and Mischa, we had one less person which we got penalty points. If we were to do it again I would be more involved because I was scared that the rubber band put snap and fly everywhere. I probably worked at level 2 because I didn't really do anything, I just did what my teammates told me to do.

Drawing in Pairs

Hello yesterday in Health your friend had to describe a picture and you had to try to draw it as close as possible to what the picture looks like. After that, you switched roles and you had to describe it so your friend would draw it. Here is what I had to draw and what I drew.

The IP skills I used were Verbal, Non-Verbal and Active Listening. I didn't use any warm fuzzies or cold prickles so I was just normal nothing encouraging nothing mean.
This is unfinished but I'm going to publish it anyway.

What Causes Stress?

When you have a lot to do you start feeling like the world hates you.

Your brain goes into the red zone and stress is supposed to help you get out of the situation for a little amount of time, but if you have a lot to do you get stressed even longer.
