Truffles

Hello and welcome to (probably) the last blog post for Home Economics. It's been a great year but it has to come to an end.

Recipe

I don't think this is the right recipe.

1. Put the biscuits into a plastic bag and hit with a rolling pin until crushed into small pieces. Transfer to a bowl. Transfer to a bowl. Add cocoa powder, walnuts and 1/4 of the coconut. Make a well in the centre.

2. Add the condensed milk. Mix together with a wooden spoon until evenly moistened. Chill for 30 minutes.

3. Spread the remaining coconut onto a plate. Roll level tablespoon of the mixtures into balls then make slightly egg-shaped. Roll in the coconut. Keep in an airtight container in the fridge.

It's All About the Nutrients
1. Carbohydrates
2. Water
3. Vitamins
4. Protein

Evaluation
I was mainly getting carried by Cody, I'm that person that is afraid if I do something
without checking I get it wrong. All I did was dry the dishes, get the butter, brown
sugar and cocoa powder.

It looked yummy. The chocolate dessert tasted delicious. I didn't really taste
chocolate but it was still good. The texture was nice and the smell was great. The
ice cream melted really fast.

Rice Paper Parcel

Introduction
Welcome to another blog post. Today we made Rice Paper Parcels in Home Economics. I was working with Hunter and Cody (I think that's their names).

Recipe:
1. Fillings of Your Choice.
2. The Rice Paper Wrap Thing.
3. Wet the Rice Paper.
4. Put the Ingredients On.
5. Wrap it.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm that's all I can think of.

Photos
I forgot to take a picture... So here's another one from the internet.

It's All About the Nutrients
For the 986th time, I say this I suck at naming Nutrients.
1. Protein.
2. Fat.
3. Carbohydrates.
4. Vitamins.

Evaluation
My team worked well together.
It tasted a bit bad because I didn't roll it properly. But I know how good they can taste and they are usually good. The texture was a bit wet.

Open Steak Sandwich

Hello and Welcome to this Blog Post. Yesterday in Home Economics We Made an Open Steak Sandwich. I Was Runner Yesterday So I Was Late for the Lesson. I Joined a Random Group and Worked With Them.

                                       Open Steak Sandwich                       Serves 4

  • Beef Schnitzel-  trimmed, about 1cm thickness (can be shredded & marinated before cooking)

  • Oil (for cooking meat)

  • 4 Bread rolls or 1 ciabatta loaf, cut into 4 pieces

  • Mayonnaise

  • Sauces - own choice eg Tomato, BBQ, Sweet Chilli

  • Lettuce, Spinach or Mesclun salad leaves

  • Tomatoes, sliced

  • Red Onion rings

  • Cheese slices

  • Avocado

  • 1. Quickly pan fry the meat over medium-high heat until just cooked, turning once during cooking. Allow resting for 5 minutes. Serve as a piece or shredded

  •

  • 2. Cut rolls or ciabatta loaf pieces in half. These can be warmed or toasted if desired.

  •   Spread the tops and the bottoms of the bread with mayonnaise and /or sauces chosen

  •

  • 3. Top half the bread with lettuce etc, tomato slices, steak and any other ingredients

  •

  • 4. Cover with the remaining bread pieces

  •

  • 5. Serve

I Forgot to Take Photos, So here is a Random Photo From the Internet.

Nutrients
Some Nutrients Were Protein and Vitamins.

My Team Worked Well Together.
The Sandwich Looked Good. It Tasted Really Good (It Was Probably the Beef that I Enjoyed the Most). The Texture of the Bread Was Dry. I Didn't Really Taste the Dry Bit of the Bread Because of the Meat. I Don't Think I Smelt Anything.

Pizza

Hello and Welcome to another Blog Post in Lockdown. In Home Economics we had to make something at home.

I got the ingredient from my Intermediate School Website https://kirkwoodfood.weebly.com/pizza.html

Here is a picture of the Ingredients:

This is the Uncooked Product

I Used Sliced Chicken Nuggets to modify the ingredient because I didn't have any pepperoni. I also didn't have any tablespoons or anything so I just used spoons and cups.

Here is the Picture of the Finished Product

It looked delicious but not professional. It tasted delicious but was really hard. It was really warm. The smell wasn't that strong in fact I don't remember what it smelled like. The texture was hard.

6. Add the Remaining Vegetables and Cook for a Further 5 Min

7. Bring a Pot of Water to the Boil

8. Add the Broken Noodles into the Boiling Water and Cook for 2 Minutes

10. Serve

Nutrients

Again I'm not good with identifying what nutrients are in a product.

1. Protein

2. Vitamins

Evaluation

My team worked pretty well together.  Although some of the noodles dropped on the ground (apparently they weren't put in but when I got home my stomach started hurting). The finished product looked fine. The noodles tasted a bit plain maybe a little more flavour and noodles. The texture of the noodles was soft. I didn't get a chance to smell it (I don't think I smelt anything) probably because I was a bit sick because of the rain and snow on Monday.

Some nutrients that were in my Pita Pocket were Protein, Vitamins and Minerals. I'm not actually sure what nutrients were in the pita pockets. Those are the nutrients that I think were in there.

My team worked pretty well. It was more of an individual thing but we did help each other by getting some of the foods, cleaning dishes, drying, putting them away.

It was broken so it was hard eating it. It smelt ok and tasted ok. I didn't really enjoy it, it tasted like vegetables mixed with other things in bread that makes your throat dry. It felt cold and didn't really match between the taste, feel and smell.
